Employee scholarship awards announced for 2020–21

Oct 14, 2020

Each year, donor generosity enables the foundation to award scholarships to UCHealth employees interested in furthering career-related skills. For our 2020–21 scholarship cycle, $37,000 was awarded to 26 recipients who work at Longs Peak Hospital and its affiliated clinics.

Since 2018, the foundation has awarded $81,525 in scholarships to 58 UCHealth employees.

Employee scholarships make a tangible, positive difference in our community.

“I have come to understand that the culture of UCHealth is one that appreciates their employees, and I feel the organization truly wants each employee to gain professional as well as personal accomplishments. Earning a master’s degree is not only a personal goal of mine, but also a professional goal. My intention is to use my education to become a better leader to my group and to further contribute to the success of my department.”
—Shannon Griffith, Nuclear medicine technologist

“Academic success has not always come easy for me. As a high school dropout, I found that my options were limited when I first entered the workforce at 16. It took years of hard work to be at a point where I am now in a position to obtain a master’s degree. The scholarship has opened a door, and the prospect of a brighter future. Donors like you make achieving academic success an option. I can only hope that one day, I too will be in a position to make a positive impact on another student in need. Thank you for your support and for investing in my future.”
