Meet Larry Stauss, Longs Peak Hospital Foundation board chair

Aug 6, 2020

The foundation is fortunate to have community leaders, executives, volunteers and a highly qualified and talented staff devoting time and energy to sustaining our mission for a healthier community. One such person is Larry Stauss, who became chair of the board last year. Stauss is vice president at High Plains Bank and has 30 years of experience in the industry. He has served numerous community organizations, including Longmont Community Foundation and Longmont Downtown Development Authority.

Q: What would you like to tell our constituents about yourself?
A: I’ve lived and worked as a banker in and around Longmont since 1989 and am originally from North Dakota. Giving back to the community that has given so much to me and my family is important to me. Quality health care is particularly meaningful to my family: My wife manages the lab at UCHealth Greeley Hospital, and my daughter will graduate from nursing school next May. It’s satisfying to know that the accomplishments of Longs Peak Hospital Foundation are bettering the interactions that patients have at our hospital.

Q: From your strategic viewpoint, what is a primary goal you’d like to see the board and foundation focus on for the rest of this year?
A: There are still so many people in our immediate communities that don’t know about Longs Peak Hospital, our incredible and caring staff and the remarkably advanced technology to which our caregivers have access. In my mind, one of the main focuses of the board should simply be to let our friends, family and the community know about the awesome things happening at Longs Peak Hospital. Despite the fact that we’ve been open for only three years, we have so many wonderful and powerful stories to tell, and I’m eager for the surrounding communities to really get to know us.
