If the onset of cold weather has you dreaming of summer, enjoy this throwback to warmer days. In July, Parker and Naya, children of Longs Peak Hospital’s Dr. Devin Rickett, set up a lemonade stand outside their home. They wanted to raise funds for sick kids. Indeed, their efforts netted $100 for patient assistance. To honor their wishes, the funds were used to pay for home oxygen for a newborn who needed this extra breathing help in order to go home.

From August 2018 to August 2019, our patient assistance fund helped 362 patients in need. Here are some examples of how the funds helped: procured a hospital-style bed for a man in the last stages of cancer; purchased a walker for a woman who had recently broken a hip; provided oxygen at home for three patients so they could be discharged safely.
